Delhi and Ahmedabad blasts reveal that terrorists hacked into unsecure WiFi networks to send out the terror e-mail. While this trend may continue thanks to the number of IT professionals on the Stud.
Mumbai's anti-terrorism squad has found that the WiFi system used to send the terror email after the Delhi blasts was not secured, implying no password was needed.
Computer experts say that few users bother to password-protect their WiFi accounts, leaving it open for anyone in the radius of about 100-200 metres to get in easily. For terrorists, this is far safer than trying to go to a cyber cafe, where they would be asked for identification.
Do you agree that there is no need of great hacking ability or computer skills to send the terror mail from WiFi system?

My Name is Vishal Sunil Rajgor. I have been reading Chitralekha, since I was a child. I come from a Gujarati Brahman Family. My Mom is top notch fan of chitralekha.
Now about the question. I have used WiFi Networks many times. My question to Computer Experts is, even if we password protect, what is the optimum level of protection? Password Protection can especially be bottleneck in places like Shopping Malls, where in its a sort of service to customers How can Mall people ask for identification to customers? Its a point to think about.

But true if one has to do the crime i mean he use wifi or any other Internet system would not make difference to him.
Govt should not worry about wifi or internet access been hacked...Infact they should be more agressive on adopting a methods to stop this type of crimes.
And i do agree to this blog there is no need to be expert to hack into any wifi system...and lets assume they will not send email from India. They can go and send an email through any another country not a big deal...

First of all i feel that the Government is trying to take it under its control as the Government own BSNL & MTNL is going in losses so in order to cover its losses the government is trying to fool the public.
I feels that the best way for the government ot stop its misuse is to allow the private operators such as TATAS & AMBANIS to start this type of sevices.
The government is not that serious to tackle the misuse of this wifi systems as it is very soft on the Muslims & for that they needs the muslims votes to stayin power.
