60 readers to fly to their dream destinations as Chitralekha turns 60
Chitralekha readers will never have it so good. Answering a few questions spread over the next one month gets them all expenses paid holidays to Thailand or Goa.
Beginning April 22 Chitralekha completes 60 years and kicks off its celebrations with a 'never before' contest where readers have to answer 60 questions over 4 weeks. 60 winners (30 couples / companion - on twin sharing basis) get to travel to Thailand or Goa. The contest is being announced through a media blitz in print, radio, outdoor etc.
Chitralekha's biggest strength has been its loyal readers who have passed the baton of reading this journal down the generations. As a gesture to honour this loyalty, Chitralekha sends its readers on a 3N/4D exotic getaway. If this is not enough, a journalist will accompany this lucky troupe on their holiday and chronicle their travel memories in the mega Anniversary Issue out in September.
Coinciding with anniversary celebrations, the commemorative Anniversary Issue will chart the history of six decades of Chitralekha and India, written by experts and eminent personalities which include stalwarts like L.K. Advani, Javed Akhtar, Mukesh Ambani, Madhur Bhandarkar, Vallabh Bhansali, Bakul Dholakia, Boria Majumdar, Sam Pitroda, Jairam Ramesh, Julio Ribeiro, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kapil Sibal, Jignesh Shah, and many others.
Chitralekha's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, proudly presented by Reliance Industries Limited will continue with a six city event across Gujarat and Mumbai encompassing day long seminars and workshops and end with a grand party. The events will be promoted in print, radio, outdoors and will be aired exclusively on ETV Gujarati.
Chitralekha Group had humble beginnings, when its flagship Gujarati magazine, Chitralekha was launched in 1950 by Vaju Kotak, with a print run of 10,101 copies. Today, the much revered news weekly boasts of over 240,000 copies and is almost a fixture in a Gujarati household.
